THE SPOILED UNDER-30 CROWD!!!

Now I KNOW i'm getting old! I been preaching this nonstop to my younger cousin's.

If u r 30 or older u'll think this is hilarious!!!!

When I was a kid, adults used 2 bore me 2 tears with their tedious diatribes
about how hard things were when they were growing up; what with walking twenty-five miles 2 school every morning ... uphill BOTH ways ... yadda, yadda, yadda

And I remember promising myself that when I grew up, there was no way in I was going 2 lay a bunch of like that on kids about how hard I had it and how easy they've got it!

But now that... I'm over the ripe old age of 30, I can't help but look around and notice the youth of today. U've got it so easy! I mean, compared 2 my childhood, u live in a Utopia! And I hate 2 say it but u kids today u don't know how good you've got it!

I mean, when I was a kid we didn't have The Internet. If we wanted 2 know something, we had 2 go 2 the library and look it up ourselves, in the card catalog!!

There was no email! ! We had 2 actually write somebody a letter ...with a pen! Then u had 2 walk all the way across the street and put it in the mailbox and it would take like a week 2 get there!

There were no MP3's or Napsters! U wanted 2 steal music, u had 2 hitchhike 2the record store and shoplift it urself!

Or u had 2 wait around all day 2 tape it off the radio and the DJ'd usually talk over the beginning and @#*% it all up!

We didn't have fancy like Call Waiting! If u were on the phone And
somebody else called they got a busy signal, that's it!

And we didn't have fancy Caller ID Boxes either! When the phone rang, u had no idea who it was! It could be ur school, ur mom, ur boss, ur bookie, ur drug dealer, a collections agent, u just didn't know!!! U had 2 pick it up and take ur chances, mister!

We didn't have any fancy Sony Playstation video games with high-resolution 3-D graphics! We had the Atari 2600! With games like " Space Invaders " and "asteroids" and the graphics sucked ! Ur guy was a little square! U
actually had 2 use ur imagination! And there were no multiple levels or sreens, it was just one screen forever!

And u could never win. The game just kept getting harder and harder And faster and faster until u died! . Just like LIFE!

When you went 2 the movie theater there no such thing as stadium seating! All the seats were the same height! If a tall guy or some old broad with a hat sat in front of u and u couldn't see, u were just screwed!

Sure, we had cable television, but back then that was only like 15 channels and there was no onscreen menu and no remote control! U had 2 use a little book called a TV Guide 2 find out what was on!

U were screwed when it came 2 channel surfing! U had 2 get off ur and walk over 2 the TV 2 change the channel and there was no Cartoon Network either! U could only get cartoons on Saturday Morning. Do you hear what I'm saying!?! We had to wait ALL WEEK for cartoons, u spoiled little rats!

And we didn't have microwaves, if we wanted 2 heat something up we had 2 use the stove or go build a frigging fire ... imagine that! If we Wanted popcorn, we had 2 use that stupid Jiffy Pop thing and shake it over the stove forever like an idiot.

That's exactly what I'm talking about! U kids today have got it too easy.
U're spoiled. You guys wouldn't have lasted five minutes back in 1980!

Regards,

I may have only had an Atari 2600, but the games were still 30 - 40 bucks each for those stupid little blips and squares!

I had an Atari and remember when Donkey Kong came out and that was THE inventive game of that time!! I remember Nintendo came out with a cereal!!! "nin-ten-do...it's a cereal....WOW"

I TAPED my music off the radio, LOVED "woody woodpecker", "fat albert" and the "transformers" on saturday mornings, and I actually KNOW how to use the card catalog at the HPL

Heck yes @ Donkey Kong. I was addicted to that game. I was when it came out for Atari 2600 because it didn't have the elevator level.

I was all about Smurfs, Snorks and The Littles on Saturday mornings. Woody and Transformers and Thundercats on weekdays afterschool.

I was excited when FINALLY got my own TV for my room. It was a 13" black and white hand-me-down. Oh, and no remote of course.
