key...unless i park the bike on a incline/decline road where i leave the bike in gear n use the kill switch (easier since hands on brake/clutch)

only reason I've heard for it was in case your throttle somehow got stuck and you need to shut it down right away

Or else you end with one of these when you crash through the end of a parking lot steel barricade.

Do you turn off your bike with the key or the switch

Not necessarily as right way or wrong way, since both work. It's personal preference, although the switch is really only for emergency situations.
I use the key since it's a one-step process, unless I need to roll in quietly when I get home, then I'll kill the switch. If you use the switch, you still gotta take the key out.

Using the key is just like any other motor vehicle ignition.... well, except for the new Concours, of course.

Knowing HD they probably don't interupt the power to the ECU but rather ground it through the ECU when flipping the switch, therefore burning it up.

I just use the key out of habbit. I don't see why the kill switch would wear out any faster than the ignition switch. They're both switches, switching the same power.

I use the key because when using the switch the lights remain on and the switch is supposed to be only for emergencies.
