I teach the msf and I tell the students in our course you will turn the bike off Kill switch, Ing switch, then fuel where necessary. I also tell them when they leave the course read their owners manual because most say turn off key only. I turn off key only on my bikes.

i used to always flip the kill switch, and then the key only if im leaving the bike ... but someone told me that its not good for the bike to use the kill switch all the time, so i use the key now.

is that true? ... does it matter?

the drz with the dirt wheels I often use the kick stand because that thing is so tall that I have to use the peg for a step to get on it. As I come to a stop I kick the stand down and the bike lands on it so it is easy to get down. 38.5 inch seat hight.

Doesn't hurt it at all, unless you have a Triumph 675, it's been known to fry the ECU.
Brits never can seem to get electrical right!

i can't see that it should matter, unless your kill switch is just poorly designed and you're worried about wearing it out...

i usually use the kill switch, then key.
