Let's see count stars, um........ yep that's about it. Six months of darkness. Drink and have .
Guess you can find a snowmobile. Learn to ride in the dark.

I've been there in December before. You need to really like cold, snow, and darkness. Find someone with some snow machines (snowmobiles) and go out speeding around on the frozen lakes. Maybe skiing, but I don't know if there is any of that around Fairbanks. Be prepared to drink a lot. Or be prepared to meet up with the natives, drink a lot, and then walk around town in shorts and a tee shirt like they do.

Take proper supplies with you in your car if you go anywhere ouside of a city because if the car breaks down and you don't have plenty of keep warm clothes and blankets you are likey to die before help arrives. Have fun!

I've been there several times in the summer and it is great. If you go in the winter you are focused on boredom or not freezing. If you go in the summer you really get to enjoy what Alaska has to offer.

Maybe you can get the hardcore Inuit experience in January though. Build your own igloo, do some ice fishing, eat a seal, etc.

You have got to explain that one. Tell me you did not try to cook them on a camp fire on the ice
