Hi from League City

I've been reading the forums for awhile and posted once, maybe, but never posted here in the introduction forum. Just wanted to say hi and to be careful out there on the streets.

Went riding this morning and was trying to work on body positioning for turns. Unfortunately, in that process, I failed to read the street and hit a patch of gravel. Well you know how the rest goes. Lowsided. I was going maybe 25 mph. Frame sliders and gear are your best friends!

Got a bent brake pedal and some scratched up gear, but the bike started up and I rode it home. Here are some pics. Please be careful out there and think about wearing gear if you don't, it was probably the difference between the hospital and walking away.

A very kind gentleman (wish I got his name) stopped and checked if I was okay. Helped pick up the bike and made sure I and the bike were good before he left. I know he probably won't be reading this, but thanks for the help.

Here are a few pics of the results. Minor damage, although remembering the sound of the bike sliding across the pavement wasn't nice. Don't think I posted the pictures correctly as I got the little x's in the preview, so here's a link to the album: http://picasaweb.google.com/alunwann/Lowside
