Its "easier" to do with the wheels off but not necessary. Im a little o.c.d so I know how you feel about getting it to come out right. clean the wheel really well and take your time and you'll come out just fine. Im about to re-do mine....had to replace front rim.

Can't get it perfectly round. It will mess up and you gonna have to live with it unless you like to spend money and more time.

My stripes aren't perfect...but really don't care all that much. They look good enough to me!

I had the bike up on a rear stand and had a jack underneath on the balance point so that both wheels would spin...it's still kinda tricky though.

I did mine with the wheels still on the bike. It took me for ever for them to come out as close to perfect as possible. It helps alot if you can find a way to get the wheel of the ground so you can turn it in place

^^^ thats pretty clean. I dunno what would work on mine. Before I polished the wheel I was going to due a yellow just to pop and give some visibilty... now, I don't think anything but black or maybe red would work
