Question sv frame sliders

i am looking to buy some frame fliders for my 2003 sv but was wondering why one slider is shorter than the other and almost all the kits i look at? what is the purpose for the two different sizes?

One side is counter sunk & will have a step down on that slider. As far as the length goes, I believe it is because one side is longer because the engine case sticks out more on one side....I think.
