the R1 and ZX10 are completely different bikes. while the R1 feels like a big 600, no low end power, laser precise handling, etc. the ZX10 feels like a classic literbike. gobs of power everywhere, so much so it's downright scary. but it also has amazing handling. it's as small as most 600s. BUT, it's not nearly as forgiving as other bikes, especially the R1. it's the type of bike that if you make one small mistake on, it'll spit you right off. coming off a 954, i think you'd like the characteristics of the R1 better.

but i'll tell you this...i've owned a 929 and a 954, and i think the zx10 is the best bike i've ever owned.
