*selling your bike for 5k OBO*

and the new 08 zx-10 is suppose to have some minor tweaks that i dont like, so id say the r1. but then the r1 has the fly by wire throttle and Traction control... and stuff.. so its really up to you

Man I thought you wantd to keep that bike? Personally, I wouldn't go with either if you are going with the late model bikes but if you had to get one of the two: Kawi. I hate the new R1's for both riding position and that fly by wire garbage...Kawi's seem to have an issue with tank slappin' but I think that issue is resolved with a good damper. They sure have plenty of torque...the Kawi's that is...

Get the '08 ZX-10R or find a clean used '04/'05 ZX-10R.

I like the R1 better any day.

And the difference in my opinion is that I'm not brand loyal like a lot of the other people that will tell you which one to get. Just happened to be the favorite bike I've owned...... so far

Where is this rumor coming from? I have an 06 10r an it hasn't has any tank slap unless I wheelied it.

you can tell the powe difference in the 10r and 954rr. 954rr is a great bike, feels light, well balanced all around.

The more I ride my 954r the more I love it. Great power.. Great handling.. Feels like a caddillac compared to a friends 600rr. Plus its paid for. I want a busa myself but I would lose the cornering and I just couldnt give that up.

Think Im gonna eventually turbo mine. Just for the extra power. Would be rare too. Only see turbo busa's lol

Hehe, jk. Im just jealous you have a bad bike and my garage is empty.

This just in....The G35 so owns a BMW 325ci. Not even close.
f'n kawi lovers. I actually love the 636's (except for the instrument cluster)

ok, ok....so I've actually never owned a 10r only because every time I saw an R1 AND A 10R about the same year, condition, etc. I bought the R1 because simply because it gets you more .

There. Is that a good enough reason.

the 2007 R1 has some issues trust me. I can't speak for the 08's so maybe they aren't as bad. I love my 07 but low end power is absolute , off the line I feel like I'm in an F-650.... Up top, now thats a WHOOOLLLLEEEE different story. Handles great, braking is awesome....

The CBR1000R is a good bike. Some people bash it because it has lower peak hp #'s than Kaw/Suz/Yam. However, it has more than enough hp for any street rider. Go sit on the bikes and pick the one that is the most comfortable and looks the best to you. You can't go wrong with any of the new liter bikes.

my buddy has an 07 cbr1000rr, and I've ridden it a couple of times, and it rides nice. Also, in my oppinion, the 1000rr and the r1 have a nicer sleaker look as opposed to the kawi.
but like someone else said ... go sit on all three of them, see which one feels the best on your and see what little touches catch your eye!

i had been leaning towards the Zx-10 until wednsday when i saw a R1 at starbucks...it was a really nice bike...so i started looking into it.....the slugish start i cant deal with...i had to change my sprockets out on the 954 because of that....i guess i will have to actucally sit on one to see what feels better....does any dealer allow you to test ride baikes here in houston?
