Nope. Childhood was quite normal. Like I said, I questioned EVERYTHING. I was a very inquisitive child, fascinated by space.

Sunday school creation stories made no sense to me. They didn't like my questions.
Ok. I didn't mean to sound impersonal. But i have heard of kids that grow up in real strict Christian homes without much love go onto resent and Christ. Even though they had nothing to do with such negativetity.

Btw do you have faith that the sun is going to rise tomorrow?

You're quoting a panicked christians response to something he obviously knows little about. I mean he/she even says.. "I heard ..." <-- dead give away.

Not starting any shyt here, but this has always been my thought on the subject of Atheism.
With all the beauty in this world (and through out the universe) and all the good in man, it is hard to believe (no, conceive) that one would/could not have faith.

Oh well, just my $0.02 on it.
I understand, I don't agree but I do understand...

I've heard of people like too. Often times there is something that happens later on that restores their faith.

I'm not one of those. I've come to my own conclusions looking inside and probably more importantly, standing on the outside looking in.

That's not faith. That is fact, and I can prove it to you.

And again I say.... If there was a quote, then we could go by that. Besides, I don't see "written by: Panicked Christian". There are some so called Athiests who don't have a ****in clue as to what it means! The writer could be one of those as well.

Actually, fact is, the sun is fueled by a non-renuable source and in fact one day will not rise again.

^^ This is where some atheists can become offended.

Although I appreciate your 'concern', you should save you energy for someone who is actually worried that might exist.

Ok then.

A) The sun does not rise, the earth rotates
B) Even if the sun were to burn out, we still rotate and it will still be there. Dimmed, but there.

Exactly. Some Higher power is keeping everything livable for us. And we just take it for granted.

from wiki......i found this interesting

However, Pullman has found support from other Christians, most notably Rowan Williams, the Archbishop of Canterbury. These groups and individuals point out that Pullman's negative portrayal of the "Church" in His Dark Materials amounts to an attack on dogmatism and the use of religion to oppress, not on Christianity itself. Dr. Williams has gone so far as to propose that His Dark Materials be taught as part of religious education in schools. Moreover, even authors of works dedicated to critical appraisals of religious themes in his writing have described Pullman as a friendly and generous debating partner[7].
