Interesting about new movie "The Golden Compass"

I don't have an opinion either way, but I figured I'd post it up to let those of you with kids (and those without I guess) know ahead of time.

I'd say it isn't just about Christians. It's anti- from what I've seen written.

I don't have a problem with having a different belief. It is the effort to try and kill in kids minds. I mean this is a direct attempt to try and push out of people's lives. I think a direct attempt to try and kill faith is wrong. He can believe what he wants, but affecting Christian kids like this is wrong in my opinion.

The opposite is true for many people.

Oh I agree, and I don't believe in forcing either way. The only Christian religion that I see FORCING their beliefs on anyone would be Jahova's witness. They are a lot more pushy than the rest. The other churches allow you to come to them. I think every person should find on their own. On a different note, isn't pushing somone into having beliefs in "Something" positive better than stripping people of their beliefs? Can you imagine how the world would be if EVERYONE thought that there was no after-life and that their actions would not be punished eternally? Right or not, believing in by christians helps police a bunch of wrong doing before it even happens. Since I am Christian, I feel I am watched and judged every day. That helps me walk a straighter line.

I don't think that believe in *something* just to believe in *something* is good for anything. But from you follow-up sentences, by *something* you mean the christian , because not all belief systems have a concept of .

I agree with your first statement. And yes on the second statement. There are more good people than bad out there. Some people need a greater reason to keep their morals in check. And correct on the last one. It works for me, and I believe whole heartedly so I will continue.

I will be watching that movie, not because of the hype surrounding it, but because i'm open to all points of view.

Why are we so scared of a movie taking oout of our childrens lives?

If their beliefs are strong and well cemented, nothing to fear.
