Decals are ugly

Whats the best way to take them off? Chemicals? Water? GooGone? Will the plastic under the decal be discolored?

TIA

My gsxr decals just peeled right off. Now those orange and white warning stickers are a whole other story.

i would say peel as much as you can off but be careful not to peel off paint.

after peeling, then get a light degreaser/reducer soft cotton cloth and rub on and off quickly until all the residue comes off. then wax the out of the bike.

stickers are a pain in the to remove. i actually have a rubber eraser looking thing that attaches to a drill....and it rips all the decals off.

but if you're not careful, it will actually rip the paint off with it.

best thing to do, peel it slowly by hand. maybe get a blow dryer or heat gun and heat up the area you are peeling. after all is said and done....go to autozone or walmart in the automotive paints section and buy some "wax and grease remover"....soak a paper towel with that stuff....and let it sit and soak on leftover sticker residue. after a minute or two of soaking....wipe it off.

^^^^ houseofpain's right.

Since it is plastic, to remove the glue after taking off the sticker you could use 3m clean solve then orange clean to protect the surface.

Your crazy man! Decals are what gives it style. I hate bikes with no decals or custom paint.

So buy another decal. Your ZX-7R looks GREAT the way it is. . . . I'd leave it.
