Does that go for novices too (the contingency)? I think it's only experts, but I have been wrong before...

That's what it was. Also the class sponsors pay the experts and select novice classes.



One question that has gone un-answered: NO YOU can't make any money racing unless your last name is associated with pro racing. The costs waaaay outweigh the monetary benefit you may see. All that said, I have won some tire money and other winnings that near paid for the weekend though. We had to come in first in class for that to happen however.
