It's like the olive skinned guy from Egypt that applied for financial aid that was intended for 'african americans' and was denied. When he asked why, he was told it's because he was not 'african american'. So he's like.. Umm.. do I need to point out Egypt on the map?

Yeah, didn't you know? Racial inequalities in America is all in "Black" and "White".

there are illegals from everywhere in the US. Mexicans are just more common down here closer to the border obviously, but that is a whole other thread.

That's because a Mexican = a citizen of Mexico.

Umm...

I'm black and don't like the idea of calling myself or anyone else black, born and raised in America, African American. I wasn't born in Africa, nor was anyone in my family in, at the very least, 8 to 10 generations. If anything, my great grandmother was born in Germany. I digress, I'm American and if it becomes necessary to specify what type: Black American. As far as that paper, I dun know about the reparations or any of that other mess, but did it say we did not suffer it or something to that effect? If so I beg to differ and call BOOLshyt but yeah...Arturo was very much right on this...

Oh and for those questioning the idea behind reparations and whether there's any precedent for allotting reparations to groups whom have experienced some sort of severe social injustice here in the US, consider the Native American's. Again, don't know if I support reparations because I don't EVER want to validate the idea that blacks feel a sense of entitlement or possess the need for a handout. Fok that...keep ya money, I earns mines partna...

Amen. Well said. If you are a citizen of America, you are american, and ALL American's should have EQUAL rights. Isn't that what everyone has been fighting for in this country? Just feels like once things started getting equal people just wanted MORE rights.
