I'd be offended if I was black and people kept calling me African American.

I agree with most of it. Everyone has dealt with hardships, why would they reward only african americans, they weren't the only ones who were slaves or who have dealt with hardships because of race/gender/religion. I don't see any thing equal about that.

Just the same as someone may be offended if they are African American and people kept calling them black? If you're not either, how can you speak for them? Speaking for myself, I'm American through and through, but I have no problem if someone called me Filipino American. It just helps to describe my ethnicity, but I'm still an American.

What's annoying (to me) is when a non-Flip tells me I should be offended, or they would be offended, if they were me.

So what would you call a black guy from England?

And I don't claim to speak for them. Read closer. "IF I was black, I would be..."

Sacrafices were made, but NOT BY OUR generation. In fact, all that was cleared up many generations ago.
