sorry to hear about your bad weekend.

This from Galveston County News.

Rally accidents, arrests down from last year

By Leigh Jones
The Daily News

Published November 5, 2007

GALVESTON —The Lone Star Rally wrapped up Sunday with fewer accidents and arrests than last year, city officials said.

Only one person died during the four-day event, an unidentified woman who fell off the back of a motorcycle on Interstate 45 early Saturday morning.

Last year, five people were killed in rally-related accidents.

County law enforcement agencies reported only one major accident early Sunday morning.

An unidentified man and woman were traveling northbound on Highway 146 near Barker Road in Bacliff when their motorcycle was rear-ended by a woman driving a sport utility vehicle.

The man had only minor injuries, but his passenger was transported to the University of Texas Medical Branch after she was pinned between the motorcycle and the vehicle.

The driver of the SUV, 23-year-old Gennifer Boaldin, from Vernon, was arrested and charged with intoxication assault. Her bond was set at $40,000.

City of Galveston spokeswoman Alicia Cahill said Galveston police officers made 12 arrests Saturday night, five of which were for burnouts. The rest were for either public intoxication or disorderly conduct.

Cahill said officers dealt with fewer crowd control-related issues than previous years, although they did receive more complaints of theft and fighting.
She attributed calmer crowds to better traffic flow between the entertainment areas on The Strand and Seawall Boulevard.

Cahill said officers handed out only a few parking and noise violations Saturday night but did not have a specific number

i saw two bikes on their sides this weekend. One in seabrook in a ditch and one last night on 45 and i-10.

The one on 45 and i-10 looked like a bike vs. a metro bus and suv.

I saw a harley on its side in the centerlane of the seawall.

Sorry about the thefts dude. That sux.

You know another thing I didn't see any sportbikes doing wheelies. I did a bunch on the seawall and never got pulled over.
