10,000 miles in 10 months

I bought my R6 (used, 2004 model) right after Christmas 2006, and I've now just put 10k on the clock. Most of that comes from commuting to and from work, 6 days a week. I've had countless close calls with cagers, and have been pulled over twice ( once for an improperly placed inspection sticker, and the second for speeding, neither resulted in tickets ) I've wore out one front tire, two rears, a chain, and have gone through a case of chain lube.

The Lord's protection and MSF has saved my more than a few times, and I'm glad I took it. Best 150 that I ever spent aside from the gear I've bought.

So here's to another 10,000 miles of uneventful riding!

Britt

Not eaten, but I did catch one in the eye while riding with my visor up. That sucked, and it was all I could do to get her to the side of the road so I could dig the pieces out.

Nice going... I bought an 06 SV650 new and am on the same track as you. Have put about 6000 miles in 6 months just commuting, but haven't had to throw any parts at it yet (thank ). MSF was the best investment for me, as well, and most cagers are pretty freaking stupid, but the experience is more than worth it. Keep staying safe and enjoying the ride!

I usually clean/lube the chain every other tank of fuel, or after it rains. I try and keep the maintenance up on the bike as much as possible.
