9.5k for orange tribal 600rr

Was it an orange tribal w/ black graphics?

If so I saw that bike on 290 on the way to Austin this weekend. Dude had a P.O.S. helmet on, in a full race tuck, doing about 55-60 in the fast lane on 290. Paper tags. Guess he came down from UT to get raped in H-Town.

I use Eximport to do service for me sometimes (buy parts elsewhere and have them put on there) because they almost always get me in and out in a reasonable amount of time, for competitive prices on service work. I've had Stubbs tell me 3 weeks before they could even look at my bike. -- so anyway, while I don't personally know the guys who work there, I can recognize them.

That said, I was there one day when one of the techs brought a 998 out from service, NO HELMET, rode it south down the feeder road, lofted a wheelie, set it down and turned back up the turnaround.

He came back to the shop and parked in front. The owner came and picked it up a couple of minutes later.

I guess it could have been his friend or something, but I would be if a tech rode my bike like that.

I dunno, but I'm pretty sure that MOST bike shops will take your bike for a ride after they do any service that involves something like taking a wheel off. I pretty much expect my bike to be ridden by the tech after I have work done, but I don't like seeing wheelies

I was in the market for an '06 GSXR 600 or 750 before I purchased my bike from another dealership. I walked in and was immediately ignored by all the sales people, I guess it was because I look like I have no money. Anyways I was checking out an '06 600 and asked the sales dude how much they were asking for it and he tells me $9,500. Now keep in mind that this bike had 11k miles on it and had previously been laid down. I walked out and went down the street to Mancuso and picked up an '06 750 for $8500.

Just goes to show you that it pays to shop around.

Again.....EXACTLY...!!! What part of "business are to make money"...!!! You guys do not understand...??? IS UP TO YOU to do your research before buying..!! Heck, even research out of town for a better deal, San Antonio, Dallas and Austin are good options.

Another rider friend (not a MH member) is the only place where he goes and is very close to the owners. He meet them and got close to them because is the only place where he buys his gear, I introduce him to Motorcycles Unlimited and he like the shop but to far for him.

Also you need to learn how to negotiate...!!! is like when you are buying a car. Ask to talk to Fabian or Carlos if you can not get a good deal. If they do not go lower in the price at least you try and go somewhere else. Check the VIN's and research, research and do more research.

Motorcycles Unlimited has many satisfied customers here & has been a great sponser, - talkin about them is gonna step on some toes.

Im GLAD he got romped by Eximport.

Oh, btw....his first bike...a 1098.
How did he get screwed on a 1098? Intrest wise?
