Sorry I missed it. Did the LSR yesterday with a group of Goldwing riders that I ride with sometimes. I want to hear the drama though, LOL.

The person that wrecked was me. There was a mechanical failure on my bike; dogbone that holds the bottom of the monoshock suspension separated.
It was bad luck that I happened to be in the middle of a turn when it happened since it caused me to high-side.
No fault of anyone, cept manufacturer of bike.
It was 45mph curve and I'd just passed some farm equipment, so I wasn't even close to any kind of speed i would have liked to have taken the curve at. It's prolly a really good thing I was in the curve alot slower when the bike decided to break.
I was out cold for awhile until i go to the hospital.
From what I hear, everyone was great and stuck around, helped get my bike, and some peeps even stayed to hang around in hospital for me to get out.
Thanks to everyone for their help and support.
I'd hate to even think about how things would have been if the dogbone armature, or whatever its called decided to snap and noone else was around.

Kudos and credit to all on the ride for your help.
thanks!

Oh, yes, apologies for being a bit late to post. I've sustained a pretty decent concussion, and whiplash. I'm still a bit out of it.
All things heal with time tho

Can't wait to get everything worked out with Triumph for them to either fix or replace bike, or with insurance, however this plays out as I can't wait to finish that ride out.

You fall off, you get back on.

, good to see that you made it out ok.

is it a factory defect on that dogbone? sounds like a lawsuit waiting to happen

That's what I'm thinking, and everyone else is too.
The bike is in the shop right now getting a thorough looking-at to determine exact cause.
Once confirmation has been made that the dogbone was defective from manufacturer, appropriate steps will be taken with the best legal advice I can get my hands on, if it's necessary.
The name brand company of the bike might actually turn out to be really good sports about the whole thing and just gimme a new bike, ya never know.

I don't want to bad-mouth.
So far, everyone has been great

Thanks again,

Hey guys, I,ve looked at the bike myself and definately looks to be a mechanical part failure, No fault of the driver at all, could have been alot worse if the speed was higher, similar failure to DOA,s dogbone failure awhile back, I am glad Matt is ok, and that fence didnt shred him, Hopefully the manufacturer will do the right thing, time will tell

I got a msg saying that the Triumph dealers here won't touch this issue - Tim, please send me a pic of the tires (to prove no undue stress from rider error), under tail (where the tire hit), and dogbone along with the VIN - I'm working on an idea.

Sounds like Triumph owes you a new bike to me. Thats an 07 and something already broke? Yea, I'm thinking new bike. Glad you are OK. It really could of been worse.

heh, yeah, it'd be nice to get a new bike out of the deal. However, I'll be grateful to just get the old one back, and running, and looking close to what it used to look, plus have all this neck and head pain, and crazy diziness stop bugging me. I'm not greedy.
I'm not getting my hopes up, but if they did give me a commiseration reward for "finding" a quality control error in their production line, i certainly wouldn't be UNhappy.

Still whatever happens, most important thing is that it was a get-off that I (eventually) walked away from, even if the walking away part was delayed by paramedic and MD help.

I'm also very happy that noone else tried to copy-cat me.
One spill is one too many spills in this sport.

Thanks again to everyone that helped. I'll keep in touch with some peeps and have them pass on word to everyone concerned.

ride safe, wear your darned gear, and keep the rubber side down.
