understatement of the year

I'd like to get at least another noob day under my belt first, or maybe an LSTD day.

I had about 7000 miles/8 months of streetriding before my first trackday. My mistake was only having had a big bike (came from a 250 to a VFR) for about 1000 miles before taking it to the track. I didn't have the confidence that I had on the 250 and was really slow. Just that slow-mo day did make a 300% improvement on the street though with the new bike and in general.

The second trackday was after the winter, March 3rds noobday at Buck Beasley's and I got moving pretty decent then. I had to start slowing down because my exhaust header was scraping bad.

So, I agree with the others, ride the same bike consistent for at least half a year and be confident on that bike.

no offense to anyone or anyones org. but, bucks normal trackdays aren't very well suited for NEW riders. That is a very fast paced day and would quickly overwhelm a noob on the track.

i would think a trackday would be better so he won't get in trouble on one of your sunday morning rides. would hate for someone to panic and run off into some chain link fences or barb wires. also the trackday is FOCUSED on teaching people what they need to know to get going.

i'm sure you help people before actually going out on a SMR.....but remember, some people are hard headed, and don't want instruction. the mr. know-it-all's, going out on the streets can get them seriously hurt especially if they have no clue on how to properly negotiate a turn.

my first real trackday was with buck this last january......i didn't even know how to turn the bike correctly.....and i was the absolute slowest guy on the track, even the 250's could've whooped me around. with the help of derek, alonzo, jason, and buck....they helped make me comfortable.

that's cool. i always wanted to go ride with you guys on a sunday morning...but when i tell my gf imma go on a streetride....she gives me that "look".....so i say, "i'm just kidding"

i know you guys are good guys.....make sure you keep the people in line....or let them find another ride. some guys think "i ride with jimmy on sundays, so i'm fast".....those guys worry me, and make me think their not gonna make it home one day.

good job to you and danny for keeping it a controlled ride

Cresson so far is my favorite. Tight stuff and high speed. I can't wait to run the 2 tracks combined.

One of the few times LSTD is on a Sunday and I can't get a KP from the boss. Trust me ... as soon as I saw it posted, I was already asking her...
