$1,000 a month isn't really high-end anymore. I know several people paying around $1,500 for a one bedroom.

I'd love to get a house right now too but a 'starter' home in the Heights is around $250,000 and I'm not down with suburbia and 45 minute commutes.

Its been a long time since I've felt unsafe. I really don't know what that feels like. I guess that is what it feels like to constantly carry a gun around for such a long time. I carry, my wife carries, my mom carries, my dad carries, the my sisters carry. My mom shot and killed a guy stealing her car in 1977, no billed by the grand jury. Same thing happened in 1990, she missed the guy the second time, but our truck didn't get stolen. I like the fact that we live in a country where we can turn the tables on a criminal really quick. Theres no reason to feel like a victim when you dont have to be one.

They could use an kicking against you too. I'll take my chances with the gun.

You could be killed just as dead by not having a weapon as you could having your own used against you. Hopefull the gods of superior firepower will shine down upon me and I'll never have to get in a situation like that.
