I checked Snopes and they said the pics are real but the story is inaccurate. The cat was already dead when the mule picked it up and shook it.
Also it happened in New Mexico not Montana.
Still a badass when you think that the natural reaction would NOT be for a mule to even get near a mountain lion, dead or not.

if so the cat would have had to have been killed within a few hours, rigamortis hadn't even set in. so im not too sure. I would like to think the story was somewhat accurate though. it does help to send a good message. (Don't take your animals for granted. appreciate them and love them, and they will do the same in return. and for that matter that goes for all animals humans included.)
