Which Gloves?

My father has offered to purchase me a pair of riding gloves as a gift. I realllly like these:

http://newenough.com/gloves/street_s...le_gloves.html

Since he is paying I don't want to pay $70 though, so my question is what are the best gloves that I could buy that are similar to these? Here are a few others I am interested in but I'm not sure how well they'll hold up:

http://www.newenough.com/closeouts/g...le_gloves.html

http://newenough.com/gloves/street_s...le_gloves.html

They will be for street riding only.

I was going to suggest these

http://www.heldusa.com/phantom.htm

but then I saw your 70 dollar budget.

When I first started riding I couldn't fathom paying more than 100 bux on a set of gloves. Since then I have crashed on the track and the street is worse.
Hence my choice in race gloves for the street.

I like a little longer gloves that go over the jacket, especially with winter coming Motorcycles Unlimited or cycle gear

I have some Joe Rockets that I really like. I can't find the exact model though on newenough or on Joe Rocket's site. I bought them like 8 months ago at Honda of Houston. They fit and work great. I recently went to the A* SP-2 for street use due to the long cuff (gauntlet) If I go down, I realized the short cuff Joe Rockets weren't going to protect me as much as the gauntlet style. Safety won over even though I like the look/fit of my Joe Rockets better.

I would get a full leather glove. Mesh/neoprene isn't safe IMO.

Most comfy gloves I've owned+ lots of protection. Way Nicer than the A*SP2's but thats just my opinion and opinions are...(I own SP2's now btw)

Found them for 71.99 here http://www.helmetshop.com/itemMatrix...=&MatrixType=1

All the gloves you posted links to suck and won't do for you if you go down at any reasonable amount of speed.

i wouldnt go skimpy on the gloves! those alpinestars you first liked are pretty good gloves. my buddy has them, and he bought them for 60 bucks at Motorcycles Unlimited. Im looking into getting those also. If you really dont want to spend that much, the best mesh ones ive seen are made by first gear. they sell them at cycle gear for like 50 bucks. they are longer and have a lot of re-inforced stiching and padding (but they are not leather!)

I agree, pick up the first gloves if you are worried about your dad's money then you can pay the difference in what he wanted to pay.

I would go for some gauntlets... just think about how many times you have used your hands today.

full gloves offer the most protection. street or track.....whichever best protects your hands. would suck to have to pay someone else to count your money for you
