Chris, I'm not much further than you are. , we should probably look into car pooling to further track days.

I'm plan on coming out to see the track this time. But I heard too much criticism from the last GSS track day. I love track days but I gotta spend my money wisely.

BTW, I live off of 646 near the elementary school. Between exits 19 and 20, where are you?

Not trying to sound like a , but how un-wise is it to have a track day to benefit a great guy and fellow enthusiast (who would definitely do the same for anyone else), ride at a new track, with great people (I think we're having a big shin-dig on Saturday night at the track), and just generally have a great time with friends?

Facilities are supposed to be done, and the clubhouse built. I have not laid eyes on them, but I'm sure there is a contact link at grandsportspeedway.com or something. I don't think Macman, Wade and Jeff would hold an event at a venue that wasn't finished (hence the reason we haven't been to Eagle's Canyon yet, though that may happen this year too.... big maybe).

Of course, I have been wrong before, but I think I got it right this time

The gates should open Saturday night from 6:00pm-10:00pm. A drop off fee like at TWS (Texas World Speedway) should be expected. "track rules".
Hopefully we'll do some food and enjoy ourselves.

The track at GSS has been designed to be a training facility and will be great for any level of motorcyclists. There are some fast spots and some places where transitioning the motorcycle from side to side and throttle control will make help you learn to go fast. This event is for Alberto and I'm looking forward to riding some place new. The curbs are done, the classroom has climate control and the riders lounge/club house should be close to being ready. 3-20 minute sessions with free instruction in all groups. There may not be a PA system so we'll start the groups at the top of the hour and get a bull horn for any announcements.
Group sizes will be kept small and this event is for a great cause. Thanks in advance for everyone who is involved!!!!!

i think passing SHOULD only be on the straightaways. passing through any of the turns is asking for trouble. i'm sure they will evaluate the track and make their decision before allowing people to go out there and hammer down.

sorry for answering tom's question.

Tony- I think your 100 would be fine out there, but not in the noob group. That group is designed for people brand new to the track. I think you would be well suited to ride in the "b" group on that, as it would be more of the "c" group of norm. As I understand, the "a" group will be for the fast guys/ racer types, but one on one instruction offered, with racers who are able to provide instruction to them (like Ronnie, Gabe, Mark, Andy, etc).

Martin- as of now, passing rules have yet to be determined. Likely, it will be the 6' rule and preference to passing in the straights. I think the "a" group will have rules of "use good judgement", but may be modified with stricter rules in the am until we can get a good feel for how well the track works with riders and speeds. "C" group (the noobs) will likely not have passing except in the straights, and the "B" group would likely be 6' rule.

Let me reiterate that these are not definitive, and are certainly subject to change. We have not been here yet, and none of us are able to accurately answer these questions until we can see this place in action. Certainly, the rules will be geared toward rider safety first, and may be strict in the am or for the first few sessions so we can evaluate. We may or may not make changes throughout the day.

Heck, I'm just looking forward to getting out there to see all you bozos once more at the track this year!

Sounds like a win-win at GSS to me. I think it will be fun!
Feel free to holler at me if there is anything I can do to be of help, I won't be able to ride for awhile but I will certainly be out there and willing to pitch in where ever needed.
