i was wondering about the delay as well. We have gps in our patrol cars and the re is about a 5 second lag in time. Hope it works out for him. Radar sucks anyway and is useless in heavy traffic. I dont know how they did it before lidar units came out.

I wish we had the ones that take the violators picture including the license plate and shows the speed and distance.

how so? Are you referring to cosine error?

Either way it's designed to err in favor of the vehicle being shot. operator error is the most likely problem. traffic doesn't help.

Did no one pick up on the fact that the kid in the car was being monitered every minute? That part was awesome. I'm putting that on all my vehicles when my kids start driving!

Usually thats the situation, but then theres not really much to keep track of. Panning the laser with the vehicle will increase the violators speed. Simple solution...keep it stationary. With cosine error, just keep the angle between the violator and the unit to a minimum. Our lasers have an internal self test every time you turn it on, it will give an error if its out of calibration. You should also test the unit using range only at a predetermined distance. If the distance is correct your speeds will be correct. Then on top of that, we have them serviced and calibrated yearly at the factory. So short of operator error, I'll take the laser over gps.

I've only went to trial over one laser case. The only thing the defense attorney could try to attack was my setup of the unit. I pulled out the training manual in court and read the procedure verbatim. Sprecher was . State wins.

Yeah thats him. The short chunky dude. He told me that He had 53 clients in court on the last time I was there. At about 175 per person, he's making some loot to ask for defensive driving and deferred. I tool the LSAT last year and did good enough to be competitive for the local schools. I think MH needs their own attorney.
