what's wrong with the 916/996/998? you know that the 748 looks exactly like those right? besides being yellow.

nothing wrong with them just that us simple humans can barely push a 748 :/:

I prefer engines with character since I'm just a regular street rider.

it's really about preference...and how much money you are willing to spend...heh.

prior to the 600RR, i had a 748 Superbike and a Monster 750.

Decided to switch over to the japs because of $$$.
I like how parts are cheaper, and more readily available. I also like the more relaxed maintenance schedule.

Ducati is NOT just a Motorcycle brand...Is a whole CULTURE...!!!!

If I can afford one and the maintenance cost I will have one.

Where and how did you kick the chit out of the gixxer. Lets see, you didn't kick the out of him because of price because he paid a 1/3 of what you did. Did you race him on a straight or a road course? Also remember you have about a 10% more displacement in the motor than the gixxer does. Also lay em both down and yours will cost THREE times more to fix than the gixxer. Now how did you kick the chit out of him again?

Well that depends if you want to be Number 1 or number 2 and being number 2 doesn't appeal to me if ya know what i mean.

Ducati 998 should be in the dictionary next to the word motorcyle.

Totally agree..!!

Let's admit it...with a Ducati you look way cooler than with a bike and honestly... most riding is on the streets, so how fast can you ride in the streets..?? The faster bike (Ducati or the bike) will be the one with the most skilled rider.

Oh, I see what you saying. The street riders buy ducs because they are sorta posers. I mean why not just buy a custom chopper they totally get more looks than ducs do and they are more confortable and cops don't hassle you as much as being on sportbikes.

I think anyone who rides a bike is in some level a "poser". C'mon guys..!! We enjoy being stared at when riding...!!! We are a different "bread", Anyone who is a motorcycle rider is above the standard person, we just do not choose riding just a bike, we choose a "lifestyle"...!!!

What we guys do at a PP1 or JCI...?? We "pose"....!! is part of the lifestyle...!!! An a Ducati or any other "exotic" bike will add to the "WOW" factor...!!!

What's number 1 vs. what's number 2 is relative. If you care about whether you bought the #1 bike in certain peer-pressured communities, then who's the poser?

WOW I go out on my bike to ride it, take it to a friends house to work on it, or to run around and pay bills and other business. Not to take it to a coffee shop, park it, look at it, and tell people how much i paid for it.
