zx-6r headlamp bulb question.

I want to change the headlight's bulbs of my bike for some that are clearer. My question is regarding the kind of bulbs or voltage that I should get. I don't have the user's manual and the repair manual doesn't say what voltage I should use. does any one knows something about this?

also, what kind of bulbs do you recommend?

call patrick at 281-444-0545, he hooked me up with my lights on my r6 and i couldn't have been happier. there are a lot available online as well, just don't outdo the wattage or you can cook the wiring harness.

I just checked the parts fiche here at the shop and it appears that your headlight bulb is a 12V55W(as stated above) H7 bulb. H7's are fairly common, you can probably find a Sylvania(sp?) Silverstar bulb at Wal-mart. a lot of riders on 600rr.net give good reviews about the light output and price of the silverstars

Also if you take the bulb out it should say the voltage and wattage on the silver part of the bulb

real xenon? or the 'xenon' wanna be lights?

Real xenon bulbs require an ignitor and gas bulb... Short of 100 or so per light assembly... Otherwise, silvannia silterstar bulbs would be best price for a light blue tinted h7 bulb

PIAA bulbs work well.
They're expensive @ $44.95 a piece, but well worth it IMO.
I keep them in stock for most bikes.
