Actually, Gryphin did a great job today! Can't control what other people do, though... :/:

I rode in the 3-5 spot(s) for most of the early part of the ride and I thought he did good. No unnecessary passing or speed bursts... and rode very safe.

I'll ride with him again fo sho!

I think if a group gets too big, it may be a good idea to split it. After the first clip, at the first rest stop, make an assessment on who wants to stick with the fast group, and who wants to stay back with the slower, or moderate group... especially with such a large turn-out. For the most part, we all (except me) had route printouts, so just ask who wants to lead the secondary group, and who may wanna sweep it. Eventually, we would all meet up at Kings anyway, or wherever the lunch spot would be agreed upon. I used to ride with a MC club in Jersey, and this is how it was resolved.

Hey guys I just wanted to thank everyone today (especially Gryphin & Texlurch). I had a good time even though I have a wrecked bike and a bruised ego! Bike is good mechanically, just gonna take alittle $$ to get her pretty again. I'm a tad sore, no big deal. I did learn a valuble lesson & I'm very thankful my low side was at low speed and in the grass! It still was a good time and I'll be back on 2 very soon! I plan on going to the Hooters m&g tomorrow so maybe I'll see some of you guys there!

Hey Tricki.. let us know how ya feel in the morning, and we'll see ya again on another ride...

So far as group size, I still say 7-10 for a "spirited" ride is about max. Problem with the public ones is you never know what you are getting, so far as skill level.

Well, I cannot tell a lie....

I did pass him

He did admit he was trying to keep us "in sight"

He did admit he went over his limit and ran off...

So I'll take the blame, and be glad he didn't get hurt, and learned a good but expensive lesson.

You first!!!!!

Wasn't "my" ride... I was a good little boy all day and swept, just one little section I decided to go play...

... and I wasn't setting the pace for that section..... until I ended up in front... but that is another story all together.... (did I mention how nice and slick water and leaves are? Fun, fun)

Yeah, I was going to tag along but once I saw it get up to about 7-8 people I decided just to head out on my own. I can't recall a single large group ride that I've been on where someone didn't go down...

Anyways, glad you all had a good time and it was pretty cool seeing 20 or so bike riding together on 150 (I think).

The wifey is out of town this weekend so I'm heading out in about 10 minutes to put in another 200 or so miles this morning!
