thanks fellas...

well I need to be active on another forum like I need another bike in my garage LOL (6 right now countin the 2 pit bikes LOL)

but I might pop in from time to time if I'm home alone and board :/:

yeah Dave was hurtin for several days probably still is... he ain't said lately

shoudl have him take pics of the bike - because you'd swear it should look worse off than it does for what it went through...

btw I was born in Ft Worth Texas.. not exactly near Houston but just figured I'd throw that out there .. sure would love to hit the roads down yonder ... moved out before I started riding.. dad was in the military... but everytime we drove throught TX , I always wondered what it'd been like to ride through instead LOL..

the Texas Mile is something cool too.. just learned about Maxton early this year and was gonna hit that track but one thing came up after another and never did.. then heard about ya'lls LSR track and thought hey.. another opt. to try my hand at top speed rather than quickest speed

only want to mention a couple things.. dont' wanna stir any trouble... (since I noticed a couple were upset at some things said over there and vice versa)

But as for the lanyard getting pulled and shutting the motor off.. that lanyard actually failed.. it was one of those rubber coiled type.. the rubber end broke off from teh metal clip that went to his jacket or glove.. when I noticed that and picked the remaining tether up to show the others and gently pulled the tether to stretch it out the other end broke at the plastic clip part.. left the plastic clip part still in the kill switch ...

Some disconnect their headlights when at the track.. so it's not always an indication the motor is off.. but in this case I can't recall when the bike shut down whether it was while it was up in the air or after it tipped over enough on it's side for the tilt switch to do it...

my other comment would be: I thought the same thing when I saw how clear and crisp that initial photo was - amazed at how it was so perfect it looked fake.. but trust me it was far from being edited.. .as you can see in the following subsequent photos take with random clicking of the shutter with no time for true focusing of the lense like the initial photo taken. It was def scary to witness and I dont' wish this on any of us riders to have to see a good freind go down in such a fashion.

Wear your gear and be careful no matter what or how you ride.. we have enough against us as it is..

tks for allowing me to intrude ..

E.

yeah, I was thinking about it and even if the kill switch had worked, I don't think that would turn the headlight off - believe that the key has to be turned off to switch off the headlight.

good photography whatever the case.

sorry for reserecting a dead thread.. but I just came across a email notification for this thread while cleaning out my email account

since this last posting I myself had my own lil mishap on my Busa early on in the season last year. If you'd like to see the video of it feel free to go to my website and go to the 2008 Track Videos page and scroll down to May at Byron Dragway..

came out with only a broken finger but that stupid finger kept me out of racing for 2 mths waiting for it to heal after surger

btw my tether worked perfectly for me, cotton cord is the way to go ..

lol.. hey darlin... yeah I belong to like over a dozen or so forums.. just don't have the time to spread the love to them all

found this one only because of Dave's accident pictures finding their way here and many people wondered if it was real or photoshopped.. def. something I dont' want to witness again...

but anyhow.. I saw you mention MH forum not long ago and finally put the two together realizing you were talking about this place.

E.
so be careful... now you know I could pop up just about anywhere teeheeeheee
