The Carbons latest project

as a few of you knew in the past i tried my hand at stone work in our shower. Well, i got a wild hair and decided to go ahead and do the sink/counter area in the restroom to try and complete it. All i have left to do in there now is to redo the floor tiles.

Here is a slideshow of what we just completed. It's NOT perfect but i am a rookie.

that turned out looking great. I have been in the planning phase on doing that to our bathroom and shower. It's time to get rid of the the tile from the 1950s.

i like the sink as well, where did you get all the ideas from? i suck at creativity.

James, that looks really really good. I've done some tile work (flooring) but never showers or countertops. I'd think if you can do those, flooring will be CAKE!

thanks guys!! we just pulled the design idea out of our butts.. we bought 3 different shades of stone.

Everytime i go to someones home i always study everything, from the floor to the ceiling. I see how all of the moulding is fixed to the walls, designs, and all of the good stuff. So, i take all of this in and just put something together for our house.

doing this stuff is quite simple! anyone could do it. It just takes patience, I don't line up anything really,, i think it looks good when it's just a bit off line so to speak.

That is awesome! I've got the 50's pukegreen tile in my bathroom, and I like the natural look of the tiles you've chosen. How did you make that counter? Is that plywood with tile on top, laid out over the cabinets?

I'm carpentry stupid :(

Can it turn out this good? Y'all have the styling down to the color coordination, expert job.

its a weekend job for us lame people.

i couldn't charge anyone to do this, you wouldn't be satisfied with the outcome. its easy enough to do it on your own.. I could help you out if you were interested tho.

the counter was easy, just install the cabinet/s and then lay down the dura rock tiling board, and then start tiling on top of that! you don't want to use plywood on a wet surface.

yes, you too can have it look this good, even better if you would take more time to do it than i did. The color coordination is a product of my youth.

actually, T and I both chose the colors for the whole house

I would have to tell him to go riding and just do it myself, otherwise it would never get done and he wouldn't let me
