Motorcyclist Thrown Off Bike, Run Over

I researched and did not see this posted.

TOMBALL, Texas -- A motorcyclist was killed when he was thrown off his bike and run over near Tomball on Sunday, KPRC Local 2 reported.

Harris County sheriff's deputies said Darian Gonzalez hit a car stopped in the 10400 Hufsmith Road at about 4:45 p.m.

Gonzalez was thrown off his bike and landed in a grass shoulder.

Investigators said another driver tried to avoid hitting Gonzalez, but ended up running over him.

Gonzalez was taken to Tomball Regional Medical Center, where he died.

RIP

Rider came up to a vehicle that was stopped due to a work crew that had the road partially blocked so the could remove trees from the roadside. The rider was knocked off the bike as he swerved to miss the vehicle. He went into the ditch then the bike ghosted into the oncoming lane and the car that swerved into the ditch to miss the bike got the rider. He had no chance after the wreck unfortunately. He had massive head trauma and was still treated on scene.:/:

Are U in 182(think thats the closest station)?

Wonder about the helmet thing. Not that it woulda helped much after being run over by a car :/:

Edit: I went by there yesterday on my way and could see all the tree's they're taking down. I would blame the (probably illegal) and under-educated people that were directing traffic for the tree company. Although I bet $$$ that excessive speed was a factor in that one..

I'll wager that the old wrong way steering bit him, judging by the report above.. "came upon a vehicle stopped, went to avoid, hit and spit him off"

New riders (and some old) just don't take the time to learn how to make countersteering into a habit. They jump out of the car and on the bike and drive right into what they were trying to avoid.

RIP
