insurance question

The other night a really good friend looped my bike out.He has said from the beginning he would pay any thing to fix it in the event he damaged it.I trust him to the end. Here is the question.Does anyone know or have you heard of the full coverage from a vehicle of one person covering them on another bike or car?His first move is going to be trying to get his ins. to pay.He is more than willing to pay cash, but i dont want him to have to pay what this is going to cost.If that fails i will claim it.I hope his will pay, but it sounds too good to be true.i think its totaled.i figure 2,500 in parts alone.im also pretty sure the rear sub fram is bent.so what elso is bent.know what i mean?he has bad rash, but is o.k. by the way.
p.s. please dont give me like the last post

There is a coverage called DOC or drive other car coverage if that is one his policy then your covered. IF not it may be a fight to get his policy to pay.

reason why i don't recommend 600SS bikes to noobs. if people can wheelie 125's in MSF class, looping a 600 is not that hard to do.

i think his insurance will cover it.

me and my old roommate were both insured by progresive with liability only, i let him ride my bike, he totalled it. they covered it under his policy.

they said in texas that insurance is not really specific to one vehicle, i think only vehicle type, i.e. bike, car, etc.

they just use your bikes model to figure your rates.

people have gotten into arguement with me before over what is covered and how, but in the end i tell them to STFU because progressive did cut me a $1700 check for a bike i paid $800 for. and it went under my roomies polocy not mine, and we both had liability only.

that being said my agent was a really cool chick, and her supervisor got involved cause there was some other related bs, and he was cool too. i think part of it may have been that we were both prog. customers. if we had different companies it may have been a different story.

well i have an answer.nationwide is not on my side.his said no coverage.well actually they first said yes and then said no.sounds huh?called back and said since its a bike, its not covered.if it had been my truck it would be different.girl sounded cute though.the crappy thing was the first "yes".we were both feeling pretty good and then she called back and said her manager looked at it and said no.guess i sould not have said "i think its a write off".well what do you expect, they said they were liable.i want the gsxr painted like a plane for sale here. its bad .My ins. said yes.

I "think" that is the conclusion I came to... but then again I was a Russian Linguist in the military, and had some code breaking training..
