Unhappy New plastics

Ok i kinda laid my '05 600rr down yesterday in a neighborhood and i cracked my rear cowl and my left middle cowl. i looked on ebay and i found the oem replacements for around $537 for both, i just wanted to know if that was a good price or if i could get them cheaper somewhere else. Ohh and BTW my frame sliders didn't help at all, it snapped like a twig!!

You might want to check with a body shop about plastic welding, if they are just cracked.

Like these?

pitposse 1968 8085589

They get pretty bad reviews for the base snapping off (aluminum).

But if they protected the frame, they did their job. They are frame sliders, not bodywork protectors.

Go down extremely fast and you'll have more to worry about than the bike.

Might check out some of the CBR600 forums and see what sliders they like. Seems like the Woodcraft and Shogun get good reviews.

what color you looking for?

woodcraft and vortex are some of the better ones, a long slider will act like a lever so what can you expect, get shorter pucks next time, they are for your frame not body work.

Did you keep all the pieces? Toni (houseofpain) can plastic weld it back together. A little bondo, paint and you are good as new.

IN THAT CASE.....i believe you

PM me some pictures, and i might be able to fix it for you for a lot cheaper than $500. it'll look good as new also.

and if it can't be fixed....try giving Motorcycles Unlimited a call on Tuesday when they re-open, and see if they can't get you a better deal on OEM stuff. 281-444-0545
