In Brena's case i'd say no. Apparently her pit has attempted to replicate itself in her belly.

Put in on the rear stand yourself, just takes practice. I leave the kick stand down and in gear, so if it feels like it is geting away from you just let it fall back to the left

a drop of blue loctite on the bar end screw will keep it from vibrating off

just fill in the scratch with the paint; touch up paint is a little thicker just for that reason

4th Question: Is it bad form to ride with my middle two fingers always perched on the clutch lever? Do other people do this a lot?

i learned at the awesome cycles class that a good riding position is to always have your fingers resting on the clutch, just in case for some reason you have to disengage the throtle.

I guess on the upside, you'll still have a pitbitch when the current one is too old and cranky to do it. The downside is you have to FEED that little monster!

for a little while the food is free. Eventually though, you have to start paying for it.

So Mala; if you resurrect your own thread would that be a Frankenstein thread instead of a Zombie thread?

this isn't the case for you...
but i once heard a newbie say he had a harder time turning right at intersections...because rights are sharper than lefts (well at least in the US)

you might be on to something there. Since you are going slower turning right most of the time. People tend to think they will fall over, and i suppose this "fear" just carries over. Ive actually always prefered right, I guess im wierd.

Quote:
1st Question: How egregious a mistake did I make when I rode Mogee on the beach but didn't wash him afterward? Has the sand worked its way into places where it has likely caused damage?
could hurt chain, i recommend washing it out gently and cleaning chain? Otherwise, ride that bike, unlikely its going to rack up 100k miles anyway.

Quote:
2nd Question: Am I the only freak who sometimes--not often--worries out about the possibility of Mogee just disintigrating from underneath me?
Nope. I ride daily in traffic, that's why I pay attention to ANYTHING outside the norm. Little signs can point to big problems and the LAST thing any of us need is a problem in the middle of a bunch of cagers. Can't be to paranoid when making sure you're riding safe.

I'm actually stopping 100% commuting, and moving back to the cage . I'll get a 50 for fun and when I can afford it a motard for some dirt and track time. I might hit back up another ex500 for some light commuting, but I think i've about had enough with nearly 2 years of rush hour traffic. Makes me not want to ride during weekend since I've been riding all week, so its become more of a form of transportation than a form of enjoyment and relaxation. I'll pick it back up later, but to relax and race.

Quote:
3rd Question: I've changed my body position, experimented all day long and still can't find a way to keep my throttle hand (mostly) from going numb. Normal?
Putting too much weight on the hands? Try Twist of the Wrist for good tips on bad riding habits btw, its helped revolutionize my approach to riding.

Quote:
4th Question: Is it bad form to ride with my middle two fingers always perched on the clutch lever? Do other people do this a lot?
I've heard its not bad to keep the brake or clutch covered. Not really "Form".... what comfortable? I can't ride like that, covering the brake I mean, since I'm on the throttle, but the clutch I cover 60% of the time in commuting to ensure I can cut it.
