Re: not too many track days left folks

Ok, I tried posting on the board a few days ago but the site went down as I tried to upload my response. Guys what Jeff forgot to mention on his original post was that if we do indeed have a racers only track day Friday Sept 30th we will host another event the following Monday October 3rd for the street guys.

The CMRA is hosting the USGRRU national final the weekend following our Friday track day and the club thinks that practice time will be vital for all of the racers coming in from out of region. Believe me our core customers are the street guys not racers; we have no intention of stiffing our loyal customers out of a track day opportunity. We sent out a bulk e-mail to all those on our database informing everyone that if September 30th filled up by the August 31st deadline then we would add the following Monday to accommodate all those who would be left out of a racers only event.

At this point the pre-registration for the racers has been lack luster at best, so unless things change in the next few weeks I don't see us holding a racers only event. Just to add a little perspective from both sides; once we announced the racers only event we got e-mails from non racers that were quite happy not to have the faster more aggressive racers on the track and were looking forward to a typically quite track day on the October 3rd. The few racers that have expressed interest were happy not to have street guys to contend with while they are trying to set up their bikes and prepare for the upcoming race. So if the racers only event doesn't happen we will once again be in the position of pleasing no one.

And yes TWS (Texas World Speedway) weekend rate is about $1500.00 higher than their weekday rate, and get this, TWS (Texas World Speedway) thinks that Friday is part of the weekend and applies their weekend rate to Friday just like it was a Saturday or Sunday. Wish I could talk my boss into this Friday is part of the weekend deal!

Thanks for the welcome to your new site, it is really cool and has lots of interesting post!
Wade
