not too many track days left folks

this is mainly for the lurkers... who might be interested in trying out a track day... (the clock is ticking - better hurry or you'll have to wait until next year)...* :eh:

There are two tracks that most folks go to for track days around here.

They are - TWS (Texas World Speedway) (Texas World Speedway - in College Station)* and MSR (Cresson Motorsport Ranch - near Dallas)

So, for those that are interested - here are the remaining scheduled track days.
Mon, Aug 08 2005 - MSR - LoneStarTrackDays
Mon, Aug 15 2005 - MSR - RideSmart
Mon, Aug 29 2005 - TWS (Texas World Speedway) - LoneStarTrackDays
Mon, Sep 05 2005 - TWS (Texas World Speedway) - RideSmart
Mon, Sep 19 2005 - MSR - LoneStarTrackDays
Mon, Sep 29 2005 - TWS (Texas World Speedway) - LoneStarTrackDays (Racers Only)
Mon, Oct 17 2005 - MSR - LoneStarTrackDays
Mon, Oct 24 2005 - MSR - RideSmart

Also keep in mind that TWS (Texas World Speedway) is a LOT closer.* Buuuut MSR is a lot more of a technical track with more elevation changes.

Click here to visit the Lonestartrackdays site for more info.

Click here to visit the Ridesmart site for more info.

FWIW, they're both good organizations - but *I* of course, highly recommend LoneStar.*

Re: not too many track days left folks

Whoa... "hate" sure is a strong word dude? :dontknow:

To elaborate a little, we have been asked to try something like this for years now, but have decided against it. For this one event, we decided to give it a try. However, if CMRA response is lackluster then too bad... we open it up to everyone. They have until the end of the month. Most posted here later, and as ALWAYS, thanks for your interest.

Re: not too many track days left folks

either way your going to get a full track day and get paid.

best thing is to keep it open for everyone and this will open the doors fo more people interested in track days and maybe more into that CMRA class room during lunch (ie $$$$).

Re: not too many track days left folks

I hear ya and we def. need to cover our costs, etc, but it's not all about the green. Doing what we can to keep our customers happy is important to us... and letting street rider know what the deal is, etc, is important to us as well. More later... and thanks.

Re: not too many track days left folks

lets all remember that this is just one event out of the 17 that lstd is puttin on this year, and try to keep the negative comments down. they are all great guys i know them all personally and their genuine first interest is to make sure that the street guys, the guys they started this for, are taken care of. right: lets wait and see how this all plays out like jeff said. ohh yeah whats up wade holla

I agree with ya here, though I am not a racer and would potentially miss out on a trackday. Racers are slowed down by people such as myself, and most other trackday goers, and that i know they do not like,, we get a little upset by slower people, but i guess thats why there are different level groups.

Exactly. Whether you are a racer or a street rider, as long as everyone remembers that it is a *track day* and not a race, then things should go fine. I've been in the position where I'm almost done with a flyin' lap, only to get held up by another rider. Granted, I could stuff somebody, but that's not what a track day is about and not worth possibly instigating a bad situation.

I would say that I do get bothered sometimes.. but not really all that much.
I like to think of it more as practicing passing slower riders. I find some different lines and methods to get a round people. I feel this helps a bit come race time.
