This was a good question!

If he lost it at 60mph in a curve on Bay Area, and was prior talking about trading the his 3 week old 600 for a 1K, then this guy lacks much judgment ability and should probably stop riding. First the limit on Bay Area is about 35, and there aren't any curves that can't be handled at 60mph. He will only make other bad judgement on a vehicle that is not tolerable of a lack of judgement.

Be a real freind talk him into selling it to some one who has the ability control their own actions.

i see what happens when perfect people read about a beginner having an accident.while i do realize how it could have been itdoes not mean the" Experts" need to be so criticle.he has had many killer cameros way beyond stock and not even a ticket.speed is not his thing.he only wants an r1 cause it looks so good.its just silly when he gets so serious and talks about controling his own ations.while i will think before i post another fyi message mabey he will try not to sound like such a jerk

"Controlling his own actions" doesn't mean we're asking him to control his surroundings. You posted it here, you take the points of view you get. I agree he might not be suited for a bike just yet, but it's his decision. I just don't want him riding in front of or behind ME on the road until he's got more experience, TYVM.

One thing that u'll learn posting on this board is that u never take anything on here personal.....as u see eventually someone gets upset over it. Is it worth getting upset about....not really. Everyone on here has a right to their own opinion and trust me they are going to say it whether or not u wanna hear it.

On dirt bikes, I crash more than the average Joe but I'm still learning. On the street, I've fallen over a few times (parking lots, etc.), my bike tips over when I'm not on it, and I hit a curb once. It was my fault and I posted up that it was (I was too tired to be on the road). Even showed pics of what I did to the curb and my bike. I figured it just MIGHT help someone else avoid the same mistake.

I never claimed to be without fault, even with 55k+ miles under my belt.

Him needing a 1k to ride is akin to you needing a $5k computer to learn to type on. Get a new friend, he makes you look ignorant too.

Yeah, I understand what you mean by some of these guys on here :p dont take it too serious theyre really just trying to be helpful.. Somehow.. Sorta like how Im going to say I would Never bring a friend to touch Bay Area after Zilch Experience (dirtbiking for a day in a friends backyard and then wanting to go to a motocross track = 3 weeks of experience riding on the street lol). (Though ironically they can grant motorcycle license for a 3 day course :P). haha But yeah, Dont take it too harsh, but do indeed take everything serious RacerX or someone is going to tell you that your friend needs to sell his car now too haha.

Riding is great.. dont let it get him down too much, he got lucky.. no.. bikes must like him.. He'd probably get a lot better if he stuck with it (though slower )

Why in the world would you get so upset about me saying the phrase "control his own actions"? Who'd actions caused the accident? You said it wasn't your fault or was it? I think not, and I think he was way over ambitious and should have taken way more time to figure out what he was doing probably before he even went out and bought a 600cc bike. Then he's saying he wanted a 1000. Listen I'm speaking from a fathers point of view not some dumb kids. I have a 20 year old son in the army and when he and 3 of his freinds graduated basic training they all went out and bought brand new '07 CBR600. My son and one of his buddys had been riding dirt bikes on and off rode and they've done fine. The other two wrecked theirs within a week. But boy they were both mouthing off like they new what they were doing up till that point. I have highly recommended that both of them sell theirs because they just don't have it in them. They are going to kill themselves sooner or later if they don't get rid of them. I've seen many people that just shouldn't be on bikes and the best thing they can do is ditch the pride and stop. I'm betting good money this is the case with your friend. Oh bye the way I have an 11 year old son that fits into this later catagory, he doesn't ride anymore, and I'm not hating him for it. I just recommend he not do it.
