My bike can handle the flooding, I'm just not going to have any fun showing up at bike night soaked from head to toe. :(

I am at 290 and beltway 8 and it is raining pretty good. It hasn't stopped since this thread was started. From my office window I can see it is dark and the beltway is moving about 5 MPH.
My wife called me said it is just about flooded back towards the airport but it always floods over there.

ugh, that was terrible. maybe the worst commute i've ever had.

1 hr and 20 min to get home, normally 30-35min
bumper to bumper traffic the whole way down BW
lucky i'm a robust kinda guy, cuz it also got chilly!

SHIIT!

Ride home wasn't bad....until I got past Richey Rd...

Stalled double length Metro bus had 2 lanes blocked. Feeder traffic, going from 3 lanes, to 2...those 2 trying to get back on teh freeway.

I went between the line of cars and the metro buses...water quickly went from inches to depth measured in feet. At one point...the 'wave'/water from the front of the bike would splash over the windscreen... the actual water level was at my frame sliders. Carefully at that point, I pulled up & over the curb. Talked a bit to a guy that had stalled out in his truck...then worked my way into traffic on the freeway and made my way to the nearest watering hole/foodstop.. (Bennigans). Hid out there for an hour then made my way home.
