me krew ives in sagemont...and he knows how to ride wheelies out...but i think that youll b hardpressed to find someone to teach you how...since you're a new rider and there is a lot of liability riding on that person..well at least their conscience

Re: How do you do a wheelie?

While everyone would like to look a certain way, act a certain way, and fit in and be cool, I must say the Hayabusa is NOT the best bike to have as a starter bike, nor a wheelie bike.

I really don't look at all these flames about someone getting a HUGE bike as their first, insulting or flaming.

Just a loving way of saying "hey man, we are a bit concerned for you, we seen it all happen too often that in-experienced riders die and give the rest of us Sportbike riders a bad name". But who are we to crush your dreams and desires? Opinions and suggestions is about all the real info you will find here, learn what you want when you want, and learn from your mistakes should you live through them.

And know matter if you wheelie or not, crash or not, these people who laugh at you, will always laugh at you simply because you even thought about wheelie'ing a Busa.

Good luck !

Re: How do you do a wheelie?

Thanks for your response- In response to you and everyone else who likes to "pile on"-

I didnt buy my bike(05 Busa) to own the biggest or baddest or whatever bike out there, it was simply a decision of being able to fit comfortably. As I stated before- I am 6'5- 275lbs- I have a hard time fitting on a 1000 or whatever. The Busa seamed longer and bigger than the other bikes I jumped on.

Also- for all of you that like to say " YOU BOUGHT A BUSA AS A FIRST BIKE, YOUR CRAZY OR STUPID OR WHATEVER" . I look at it like this- How fast do you have to go on ANY bike to get hurt? I mean dont get me wrong I do understand that the Busa has a lot of power ....... yada .........yada .........yada......... but I also feel I can hurt myself on a smaller bike just the same as a bigger bike, isnt it all in how you ride it?

And, yes I started this by asking- " how do you do a wheelie?" - But you'd swear i was wanting to know how to ride it backwards or something- its funny. I'm not sure but- I am probably older and have a lot more to lose than most of you responding to me ( I am 30, married, with a awsome 3 year old son) and I was just curious- how to do a wheelie- Not really thinking I would for sure try it, just curious how it looks so easy- how do they do it. I doubt I ever get up the nerve to try, but ohh well, its fun just riding it.

Re: How do you do a wheelie?

Put on some gear, then get going a little and blip the throttle. That thing should wheelie in just about every gear I would imagine. :dontknow:

I as well have lots at stake as well as others who rely on me daily, so keeping it safe is what I am all about, 16 years with a Class M, 31K miles on current bike, and never met the pavement. Just be smart about what you do is all I have to say about it.

Re: How do you do a wheelie?

there's a SE meet on wed nights by walmart afaik... that's one place to meet some of the folks on here...

you haven't said if you already have your gear... if you don't, you should really really get some first...

i've heard that 1st gear wheelies are a REAL bad idea for learning... but 40 mph 2nd gear ones don't sound super safe to me either... :dontknow:

your best bet is to hang w/get to know some of the stunna peeps... there are spots they go to that give you plenty of room to practice...

just remember man... it's at your own risk...

and don't let the tough love bother you... i know a lot of these peeps and they're really cool when you get to know them... it's just that a busa is one of the most powerful bikes on the planet yadda yadda... anyway, at the least it's good to know that you're older and will exercise more throttle control than somebody in their early 20's...

welcome to the board man... be sure to post up your bio in the intro - and your bike pic in the pic thread...*
