looks like he's practicing starts. which doesn't seem like an easy thing on a bike that will do 80 in first gear.

Nicky Hayden did the same thing last season.

Those bikes have launch control for starts. Either he forgot to turn it on, or it malfunctioned like Nicky's did last season.

Casey Stoner is the only one I know of for sure who doesn't use launch control. He still does it old school.
