Defensive Driving Eligibility

I need help, the courthouse people are stupid and told me I need to appear in court for them to answer my question.

Here's the deal:

August 10 2006 I get a speeding ticket. (motorcycle)

Octobert 1 2006 I complete MSF to beat ticket.

September 30 2007 I get a speeding ticket 80 in a 65. (car)

Am I eligible for Defensive Driving?

Wait, that doesn't make sense... 1 day and 1 year from October 1 is October 2. So.. by your definition, I'm 2 days late?

Please elaborate

Yes.
i belive that its you can take the class once a year and one day. so if you are inside that one year what you can do is get the court date pushed back, and take your class. it should tell you on the back of your ticket.

I didn't know MSF was considered "Defensive Driving".

I've seen the question posed as "Have you taken defensive driving within the past year?" When that question is asked in court, it will have been more than a year since you took the MSF (if it's considered Def. Driving). So IMO, you can take it. Of course, I'd guess that you'll just have to wait until your court date to find out for sure.

might as well wait, i think their website says if you apply for DD and they decide you are not eligible, they make you pay $200 plus the court fees.

You'll be fine. The 1 year means the completion of the course. I've done it once or twice. That's why it's good to hurry and finish the DD everytime. If you get a ticket within a year, either push the court date back or if it's close enough, wait till your 3 months are almost up and then take it.
