coke machine....what

to do??

So i got a 6 selection coke machine sitting in my garage and dunno what to do......the guy that had it said that they try to brake into it so many times that he told us to pick it up......so the lock is busted on it....i looked for it on ebay and they are $10 and it doesnt keep the cokes cold.....the guy said it was the compressor...the compressor runs for 120 on ebay but it might be just that gas free-on thing called....so what do yall think i should do with it????? i wanted out of there....how much do yall think i can get out of it????

That machine has to be worth more fixing it and putting it back to work than the $400 you want for a sale price.

HAHA ... i've been in the same boat for about 6 mths now. I was given a coke machine with a broken lock on it and the compressor needs free-on. i keep telling myself that im going to fix it ... but nothing yet. its just sitting in my garage collecting dust.
I've researched it, and yeah if you fix the lock (approx $20) and add some free-on (approx $40) then I could sell it for approx $400 on craigslist or ebay.
When i got it i was real stoked about fixing it and storing beer and soda's in it ... now, i think i just want someone to take it off my hands for a couple of hundred bucks!
so to answer your question ... a good deal for both you and whoever buys it ... $200 as-is

Amazingly, vending machines don't hold much value. You can regularly find great ones on CL or Ebay from $400-$700. With one that doesn't work and has a broken lock, I wouldn't pay more than $100, because it could be the freon or the compressor...or it could be something totally different, it's a shoot.

The vending machine turf wars are gangster. From the folks I know who have machines, they say it's hard to get good locations and even then they all have several machines just to make decent money.

Now as a beer dispenser, that would be sweet! Too bad I don't really drink canned beer.

I used to work with this guy who ran a few machines on the southwest side and he had a snack machine full of snacks stolen from an office park's courtyard.

he came to work ALL off the next day, about how is $2,500 vending machine full of Gardettos got ganked.

I was like, "so, did you call the police?"

And he says, "nah, man, I know the fukkers who did it, I'm gonna take care of it!"

And the next day he shows up at work with a coke machine and a snack machine crammed in the back of his S-10 pick-up.

He said something like, "they steal one of mine, I get two of theirs!"
