Re: Extended warranty on a new bike....

i think its a waste. do some research on the bike you want and any problems it may have. regular maintenace should help avoid problems.

after a year of riding MOST bikes have around 8k miles and usually have problems because of lack of maintenance. whats the biggest thing that can go wrong on a bike that is so expensive? an engine probaly. the rest can be found on ebay or purchased somewhere else. if you drop the bike warranty aint going to do and most problems do come from dropping it, not lack of engineering on the manufacturers part.

Re: Extended warranty on a new bike....

on my 04 gixxer 600 the front fork seals went out 2 times already the first time they replaced the seals and brakes the second time they replaced the whole front forks. this already was like 800$ worth of work and i paid 700$ for my extended warranty. plus i have 3 years left! i guess it was worth it for me.

Re: Extended warranty on a new bike....

I would say it definitely just varies on person/bike. Some people may need it others will never use it. There's really no real way to tell and its really a flip of the coin if u ask me. Depending on my financial status at the time would probably depend if I get it or not. just my 2 cents.
