what should I do? ....

So the new 250s are coming out ... I had planned on selling mine early next year and getting a new bike. But with the new 250s ... I'll probably won't get as much for it then as I would now.

So, sell now and be bikeless for a couple months? Or wait?

what do you guys think?

I think that your bike will sale just the same either way. People are always wanting a starter bike. They are pretty hard to come by and they sell fast.

+1.

Especially used! Consider, the new one's price is a bit more than what they cost new now.

Keep your bike, the re-sell value probably won't go down. Especially if you kept your 250 nice.

If it were minor changes then I wouldn't be worred about it. Since it is such a huge change I don't see how you can not expect there to be a significant price drop.

I'm willing to bet that if you sell in a few months you will hear about the new bike from every person who tries to haggle over price. I know I would bring it up.

How much do you plan to ask for it?

My biggest concern is that the new 250s will drive down the selling price of the old 250s ... yeah, I think I will sell.

I'm thinking about 1800 for it. That would be a nice down payment on the Monster 620 Patrick has out in his parking lot.

depends. yea, the 08's are new and will be out soon...BUT

who out there knows this that isnt on MH allready? alot of people looking for their 1st bike have never heard of Mh (yet) and wont be "in the know" about the new models for a while. id say you still have some time.

i think what you get for your bike will depend more on its condition, mileage, and overall appearance. i kinda understand wanting to be more safe than sorry, but it SUCKS to be bikeless, dont even consider that.

plus, the difference in what you get might be a couple hundred bucks only...not worth beng bikeless for!
