Femmoto 2007 - the aftermath

LOL...not really aftermath...but I AM jonesing to ride the track again!!!

Here's some pics of me from last weekend's Femmoto event at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. I rode demos on the road course on Saturday (A & B sides) and demo'd the following bikes:

Session 1 - Kymco People 250 (scooter) good intro to the track!!

Session 2 - Kawasaki Ninja ZX6-R, GREEN , closest bike to my Gixxer in twitchy throttle and handling (I really liked it)

Session 3 - Buell Lightning CityX, lots of power EVERYWHERE, highly effective brakes, and nimble turn-in

Session 4 - Ducati Monster 695, what can I say? It's a freakin' DUCATI!!!!

Session 5 - Hyosung GT650-R, wanted to try the Korean out and see what it was like, really fun session on this bike!!

Mom neglected to get one of me on the scooter (she's not so good with the camera). I'm still waiting to see the 'official' shots from Saturday. Hopefully there will be a good one of me in there!!

It was $125 per day for the 5 sessions. We had awesome weather, 72 degrees, blue skies, and no humidity. Downright perfect weather for riding

The best part was that there were NO BOYS on the track other than a couple of control riders/instructors

It's really hard to say I actually had the most fun on the Hyosung since it was the last session and my instructor pulled me and another girl through traffic and we were not only passing on the straights, but in the corners too. We did a whole bunch of stuff that as "Novice A" group riders we should not have been doing However, no one said anything so we just continued to pass the slowbies and lap them over and over and over and over and over....

If I had to pick one...I guess I'd say the Monster. I just felt really cool on that bike

That is so cool that you got to make it. I missed last year and promised myself to make it this year and well... hopefully next year!

How was the atmosphere? I will try to read up on it on Cycle Angels but since we are here, still lots of girls there and liking it? How many girls from Houston went?

I thought it was great. All of the vendors were really nice, with big props to HD & Buell for having a fabulous hospitality tent. I got tons of Buell stuff, shirts, posters, knee pucks, and ICE CREAM!!! They gave my mom stuff too!!

Next year I'm definitely doing both days. 5 sessions just was not enough. I could have done at least 2 more on Saturday because I felt so good I wanted to ride a variety of things, which I did, but I missed out on several bikes like Honda & Aprilia. Some lines were just too long!

We only had one crash that I was aware of and the girl was riding in my Novice A group during the session (#3) when I was riding the Buell. We got red flagged and had to head to pit lane. They got her up and out of the way in no time and they ended up just flagging us back on to the track. I think she was okay though, because I saw her up on her feet when I went by.

I have no idea who went from around here...I know there were some Austin ladies, but I just hung out with my mom all day (and made her watch my stuff! ha!). We did get to go see the Phantom at the Venetian, ate at a bunch of great restaurants, went shopping, went to an exhibit, and even gambled a bit. All in all, we had a great time.

Glad you had a great time.

I will try again next year and hopefully I won't be on the injury list then and can actually go.

It would be nice to get a bunch of Houston girls together and have them go as a group as well.

Yep, we should start planning as soon as they get the date set for '08. Who knows...I might even want to bring my boy & trailer our bikes out so that we can do the Friday co-ed day

Sounds good.

Seems it is a bit of a pain to log on to see the pics. Did you take any you want to share?

Actually they just want you to give them an email address and a password...they don't make you wait to be "confirmed" or anything. I just want them to get the good ones up! I want to see me in action!!

As for my own pics...I never had time to take any good ones. All I have are the ones my mom took, which aren't that many. I'll try to see what else I have that's decent, get them re-sized, and post 'em up.
