I have a whole slew of things I'd love to rattle off, but this made me so sick I don't even want to say anything more than "**** her!" and "You're a cop, happens!"

if a burglar trips on your doorstep and breaks his neck after cleaning out your entire house he has the right to sue. . .GO AMERICA!!!!!!!!!!!! What a stupid legal system we have in place IMO. i feel sorry for the family, and the cop(for being just as brain dead as the child). sad world

i don't have words for that... goes to show that if someone does trip, fall or is injured to need to ensure they don't walk away from the accident, authoritive figure or not.... BTW, I'm have a get together at my house this weekend... What? no takers?

I think the right to sue someone is ok, it's just the fact that judges actually listen to the cases that gets me.

Frivolous lawsuits should get thrown out on the fly, but we shouldn't define what issues can and cannot be subject to lawsuits.

Judges and lawyers are the ones to blame here.

This definetely will have to get thrown out at some level. Can you imagine what this could turn into? "Honey call 911 our house is burning down, I can't, one could get burned and they might sue us!!!" If I'm not mistaken, the reason for cops is to "Serve and Protect". If it werent for accidents they wouldn't need as many officers. If this goes through we would have to fear calling the police in the chance that they might trip over a rock in the driveway and sue.

That's exactly what I thought. I mean, , I don't call the cops as it is, and this is just one more reason why I wouldn't.

The judge will eventually throw this one out...like people said above...you call 911, they come to your house, they fall over something in your floor, claim they wouldn't have fallen if you and your negligence ways would have left the object on the ground, and sue.

How about we call 911 out to the house for something then once inside away from their cameras, claim the officer grabbed and sexually harassed me. The sue them.
