I don't believe she has a case. I would keep your reciepts for that Thermostat though, just in case, and if anything happens just tell them the same thing you said in your thread. The court fees would make it not worth going to court for. She doesn't have a strong case.

Did you give her a bill-of-sale stating that the sale was as-is?

Why not offer to split the cost of a new radiator. They can't be that expensive? :dontknow:

buying a used car usually means as-is.......but if you want to be an honest guy......i'd at least pay for half the cost of a new radiator. but if you don't care about having bad blood with people........keep her money and tell her "sorry, your outta luck"

That is a good suggestion. It would be cheaper and less stressful then worrying about being sued.

Kind of aggravated. Well, considering I took $200 off the price, I really dont feel like going in on half with her to fix the radiator.
just wondering...

what was she really expecting from a $2000 car??

Apparently the thermostat wasn't the only problem and could have just masked the larger problem. The problem has returned, so it's not like they are just making something up out of thin air.

Then tell her she is out of luck. Sounds like you covered the basics to me. That is good enough. That is the risk you take when you buy used.

I'd expect an ugly, but problem-free car. Or that the known problems be disclosed.

reputation is everything in sales.....it would be in good faith if you went in half for the radiator. but getting her money back should be out of the question....all sales are finally.. but good luck with the outcome....do the right thing...
