MotoHouston Ride Leads

Dr.Gonzo and BigComfy are MotoHouston's ride leads. They both have thousands of miles in street riding and have been chosen because of their positive attitudes and riding styles. Their riding style can help influence the type of style we want to promote to the community. They have some guidelines that they will have to follow set by MH management and it is best if the members know what they are so they can expect it on rides.

It is their rides and their rules.

Quote:
Some rules and guidlines will be as follows.

1. You are representing MotoHouston and any accidents/incidents may reflect on you and the message board/management.

2. Be sure to have stated riding guidelines for everyone to follow. It is your ride and your rules but use sound judgement when explaining the guidelines (wheelies, high speed, leaving the group, etc)

3. Be open to helping out new members and showing them routes for them to set up their own rides. The focus of these rides is to educate and eventually let them go and practice good group riding habits.

4. The rides will be open to the public since they will be posted on a internet message board but try to keep group size manageable. Having a sweeper or other guides can be helpful. Other experienced members will more than likely join and you can use them if you like.

5. Have different days for noobs and experienced riders if possible. Also, change routes and start at different meet locations to help new riders find the routes that best fit them. For example, first part of the route is Crabb River then a back route to Racer Road, ending in Fayetville. You get the idea.

Here is a helpful site with a better run down.

You are not required to ride and you can still set up rides on your own.

These guys will set up rides with the MH name on it and thats it.

As in what you do is tell people that you understand that MH and the person that organized this is not responsible for what happens on said ride. IF you agree raise your hand, and that way you have a group that could testify if someone was to come back and sue you. Just and idea, I sure would hate for something to happen and someone get stuck for someone elses actions.

its ok. we arent going to be sued over a ride. we arent forcing anyone to participate but rather offering a chance to ride with helpful people with members interest in mind. not a big deal.

werd. it was a good comment and got a answer that can possibly answer others questions about responsibility.

fyi, the other active mods all agreed on these choices and the consequences it may have. thats why we chose these two members.

THANK YOU for taking what is sometimes an awkward pre-ride conversation about gear and limits and making it a pre-requisite read.

I can't wait to get my bike back out on the road to attend!

WOW...!!! Is that possible?? What was the outcome ..?? Who was it..??

Maybe ride paticipants need to sign a Liability form where MH or the ride organizer is not responsible if someone gets hurt/die. Familys can also sue if there's a fatality in a MH ride, ( forbid) so maybe the liability form is not a bad idea.

It's a stupid lawsuit but the old lady won against McDonald for it. Crazy society we live in where you could be sued for helping someone.
