the new 08 ninja has a different plastics package looks very sweet i wish i had waited mine is an 07 if they had made any other conversions to ie... fuel injection , i would be selling mine to buy that one. The ninja 250 is a great starter bike and does do over 100 mph which is more than i will ever need. If you dont have a need for speed this would make a great bike. I too am "vertically challenged" at 4'9" and it fits like a glove, of course i still put lowering links on it s i could touch the ground on both sides at the same time. Good luck on your quest for a new bike and enjoy the forum, don't get discouraged, because around here if you ask for opinions you get them in a variety.

What do the smaller cc bikes run for a frame? steel or aluminum? like the 500s or 250s...

If they were aluminum, i could imagine they'd scoot alot faster...
