Second, give us some proof that your beliefs are not formed by ignorance as well.

Sorry, but with that statement I could not resist.

Anybody have the name of some of the preachers? I used to work with one from Pearland but, I have forgotten his church name.

Cult-
a particular system of religious worship, esp. with reference to its rites and ceremonies.

Just because I've known a LOT of bad Baptists doesn't make them all bad, nor all of any faith. It certainly wouldn't affect my relationship, I'm just leary of people who deal in absolutes. Example;
I worked with a bad baptist who came to work every day with a new story that started with " I was (anywhere) yesterday and these guys were talking about how much they hated Jesus". "Hated Jesus" I would say, did they hate him before or after they met you? ANd on he would go about the ridiculous things these guys supposedly said. At length, ad nauseum. I can maybe understand 1 guy being overheard saying something stupid, but not every day, all the time, while he was waiting to be seated at a diner. He was lying to make a point, or example for a story. Not helpfull, as he was at work where trying to push your faith down peoples' throat is unappreciated. His Baptist Buddy (VP)came in one day and spent 2 hours with an out of town client trying to convert him from Catholocism, and then told 3 of us we were all going to because we have tattoos. The owner, another Deacon at the BIG Baptist church we all know about, would get contracts without being bid for construction. He would rip his own church for projects that should have made a standard 20%, for 200%. I know, 3 bad apples, no big deal. I've known SO many more. I still don't let that kind of thing affect me, I just ignore them. Grew up in both Baptist and Methodist churches, so I get it. I just grew out of people who don't think for themselves, and don't see reality. That's why I follow the Way of the Samurai. Just my opinion, no one really knows until we die. Whatever people like is fine by me, it's none of my business. Whatever makes people honest honorable citizens is helpfull.

Yup, people tend to screw up a good thing... religion isn't going to be exempt from that.

I go to Sugar Creek Baptist Church. My girlfriend really likes it there, but she lives all they way down the Beltlway almost to 45. It's a long drive just to go to church. So I was trying to find a nice church around her area. We would go to my church more often if I had my own place. My parents don't approve of her spending the night all the time. But oh well.

I do not knock anyone for their beliefs.. whether they do or they dont.. but i do also request that they not knock me and mine.. any church that preaches out of the bible (which i believe is truth) because i chose to believe it.. is on the right track.. just try it.. it takes so little to be saved. and live forever.

I've been babtized 3 times in my life. once when my mother did it behind my dads back(catholic), once when my dad did it behind my moms back(methodist), and once when my dad got married and my step mom wouldn't live in the same house as non babtist. I was forced to go to church 2 times a week everyweek for knows how long. (on top of that it was a church with alot of money, so alot of people had their noses aimed at permanently) either way I gained alot of knowledge from all that, I even looked into buddism, hinduism, islamic, and a few others to see if they were right. the only thing i have found that makes me at piece with myself is science, and nature. not scientology or whatever the **** that is, its just listing to the world speak and taking it day by day and having fun with it. I find insperation in everything, thats what its all about to me, and when I die i don't care what happens, I will be dead. i have lived my life so far with no regrets and if i died right now I would be perfectly ok with it. I'm not sure there is an afterlife, and thats my decision to make. The whole point is to not live in extremes, live a life with morality(stand for what you think is right, but just because its right for you doesn't mean its right for everyone.) and keep an open mind, cause what if your wrong and another religion is right? you technically have been working for "the devil" your whole life. I don't think any religion is wrong but thats what you get when you live in an extreme.
